Two months into our marriage, and there’s been no shortage of adventures. The latest is a bet we struck up.
Ever since the wifey received a nifty DSLR from her bridesmaid, she’s been wanting to hone her photography skills. Yet, being shy, she’s not the type to bust out her camera and stick in people’s faces. So knowing her desire to get better, I proposed a wager to motivate her on our last date night.
The terms? The wifey will take ten photos on her nifty camera everyday. Practice shots, portraits, landscapes, macros, anything–doesn’t matter. She just needs to shoot ten photos. Me? I said I will post every weekday to my blog.
Now, I’ve seen way too many blogs with the following post
I know this blog is growing stale, but I hope to post everyday from now on!
…Or some variation thereof. I also know that’s a promise that will inevitably be broken. That’s why you won’t catch me making those sorts of promises here. But I’m always game for a friendly wager. I have been feeling guilty for not posting more often anyways (though in the Gospel, I am free, so no worries).
So what’s at stake? If I lose, I will be cooking dinner for a whole week. Yep, that’s right–one whole week of Hamburger Helper and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. If the wifey loses, I get to watch every Dodger game on TV for a whole week!
Either way though, I can’t help but think that the biggest loser will be my body fat percentage.

[...] September 3, 2009 So. My camera has been getting lots of action lately. Not because I know how to use it any better (I don’t). Not because there’s anything particularly exciting to photograph (there isn’t). But Steven and I made a little bet a few weeks ago. My camera had been getting very cozy (and neglected) in the corner of our living room since we got back from our honeymoon. And his blog had been gathering cobwebs for some time now. So on one of our date nights, he proposed that we make a friendly wager. [...]
