Had dinner at Phil’s BBQ in Point Loma yesterday for my last meeting with our small group. I don’t like ribs normally, but Phil’s is good stuff, and as usual, it didn’t disappoint.
Anyhow, one of the guys was telling us how he was in Cupertino the other week working with Apple on some iPhone stuff. I jokingly asked, “So did they hook you up with an iPod when you left or what?” And he replies, “Actually, yeah. They gave me an iPod classic.”
That’s why I like Apple. As good as their products are, they know how to take care of partners, customers and anyone else who comes their way. I remember I broke my iPhone (1st gen) when it first came out. I just dropped it while running–stupid I know. But I took it in, explained what happened, and they set me up with another one.
I saw this story today on a blog about a guy whose magsafe adapter caught fire. I have no doubt that we’ll see a follow-up post about how Apple sent a replacement Macbook (in fact, wouldn’t be surprised if it was a better model than the one he had).

Makes me think I should break my 3-yr old Macbook and exchange it for a shiny aluminum one. Maybe we can do it together?

Haha, except that I have the aluminum one already. Get with the times old man.

i agree, but… i did have quite a hard time getting my iphone replaced that I dropped. i got rejected by an apple “genius” 3 times, and I had to call Apple quite a few times.
but to be fair, if it weren’t apple and their reputation, i would have not even bothered. but i knew in my heart that apple would pull through.

hmmm…maybe I should pull the ol’, “I dropped my computer while running” bit…why I’m running with my computer I don’t know…but the kicker is that I was in Argentina while doing it! They’ve got to give me some props for that!
