The Big Reformer?

It’s not often that I quote the big Shaq-tus (probably like never), but he just tweeted this today, and I couldn’t help myself. He wrote: “The only absolute as it petains to human performance is that your performance will vary.”

Now that the Sun’s season is over, perhaps he’s meditating on the Gospel of Grace? Maybe he’s reading The Gospel Primer? Who knows. Nevertheless, that’s what the Big Aristotle’s quote reminded me of. Because we’re imperfect sinners, we will never be able to “perform” our way to salvation–pre-salvation and post-salvation. The more we count on our own performance, the more our God-given grace morphs into man-made religion.

Thanks for the theological musings, Shaq!
